About Signal & Journey

We help organizations understand what their customers and employees are really experiencing, and what is causing it.

Signal & Journey is a customer experience and experience transformation consultancy focused on finding the conditions behind broken experiences. We help organizations look beyond the visible symptom, trace problems across people, processes, policies, technology, and organizational systems, and determine what needs to change.

Find the break. Trace the cause. Fix the system.

Hi, we’re David and Tiffani, the team behind Signal & Journey. We built the firm around a simple idea: the problem a customer experiences is not always caused where it appears. By combining systems thinking, strategy, research, customer advocacy, technology, and operational analysis, we help organizations connect the dots, understand why problems are happening, and determine what needs to change.

Meet the Founders

Meet Tiffani

Tiffani brings a deeply human approach to customer experience, communication, and advocacy. Her background includes working directly with customers, supporting executive-level engagement, and helping organizations better understand what customers and employees are experiencing. She has a natural ability to notice where expectations, communication, and the realities of an experience may be creating friction.

Tiffani’s perspective is also shaped by cross-cultural research and observation across Asia and Europe. Through this work, she has explored how culture, environment, communication styles, and social expectations influence the way people make decisions, engage with organizations, and define a positive experience. These insights help her look beyond surface-level feedback and better understand the human needs and expectations behind customer behavior.

Through Signal & Journey, Tiffani helps organizations listen more closely, identify the human signals behind experience problems, and strengthen the communication, relationships, and service conditions that shape how customers and employees feel.

People. Advocacy. Human Experience.

Meet David

David brings a strong background in data, analytics, AI, process improvement, and business systems. His strength is seeing patterns, connecting the dots, and turning scattered information into clear insight. Through Signal & Journey, David helps organizations move beyond assumptions by connecting customer and employee signals with operational data, processes, technology, and business performance.

David’s perspective is also shaped by international research across Asia and Europe. He conducted ethnographic research focused on consumer behavior, cultural influences, and decision-making across different markets. This work strengthened his ability to understand how expectations shift across cultures and how environmental, social, and organizational conditions influence the way people interact with businesses and services.

Through Signal & Journey, David brings a strategic and practical approach to identifying what is happening, tracing why it is happening, and helping organizations turn insight into measurable improvements across the systems behind the experience.

Systems. Strategy. Transformation.

Together

Our different perspectives are intentional. Tiffani looks closely at what people are experiencing. David looks at the organizational systems shaping those experiences. Together, we connect the human experience with the operational reality behind it.

That combination is central to how Signal & Journey works.

A customer interview may reveal frustration. Employee research may show why the frontline cannot resolve it. Process analysis may uncover a broken handoff. Technology analysis may reveal missing information. Measurement may show that employees are being rewarded for behavior customers dislike.

One perspective gives us the signal. The other helps us trace the cause.

That is how we move from what happened to what needs to change.

Our Story

Signal & Journey was created from a simple observation: many organizations are working hard to improve customer experience, but they are often responding to the visible problem without fully understanding what is causing it.

A confusing process. A slow follow-up. A frustrating service interaction. A broken handoff. A policy that creates unnecessary friction. A system that limits what employees can do. A customer who suddenly stops coming back.

These moments matter, but they are often only part of the story.

We started Signal & Journey to help organizations look beyond the surface, connect the signals across customer and employee experiences, and understand where the real breakdown is occurring. Our goal is not to criticize organizations. It is to help them identify what is getting in the way, make better decisions, and create experiences that work better for both customers and employees.

As founders, we bring both professional experience and real-life perspective. We are customers, parents, problem-solvers, listeners, and builders. We notice the details, care about how people are treated, and believe organizations do not need to be perfect to create great experiences. They need to be willing to listen, learn, investigate, and improve.

Our Values & Beliefs

We believe customers are already telling you what they need.

The signals are there in reviews, conversations, complaints, questions, missed opportunities, and everyday interactions. We help organizations identify the patterns, understand what those signals are pointing to, and determine where deeper problems may exist.

We believe data should still feel human.

Numbers are helpful, but they do not tell the whole story by themselves. We combine analytics with empathy, customer and employee insight, and operational context so organizations can understand both what is happening and why it may be happening.

We believe small improvements can create big results.

Not every organization needs a massive transformation. Sometimes better follow-up, clearer communication, stronger processes, better handoffs, or a focused change in policy or technology can make an immediate difference.

We believe listening is a business strategy.

Organizations that listen well are better equipped to identify friction earlier, understand customer and employee needs, improve service, build trust, and make better decisions about what should change.

We believe customer experience belongs to everyone.

Customer experience is not just a department. It is shaped by marketing, sales, service, operations, technology, policies, leadership, employee conditions, and every handoff in between. That is why solving an experience problem often requires looking beyond the moment where the customer encounters it.

Our Approach

We help organizations understand the full experience, from the first signal that something is not working to the systems, processes, policies, and decisions that may be contributing to it.

Our approach is practical, evidence-driven, and focused on clarity. We look at what customers and employees are experiencing, what the available data is showing, where the experience is breaking, and what may be causing the problem. Then we turn those findings into recommendations the organization can actually use.

We do not believe in overwhelming clients with complicated reports that sit untouched. We focus on what matters most, explain why it matters, and help prioritize what should happen next.

Our work may include customer and employee research, Voice of Customer and Voice of Employee analysis, journey reviews, operational and process analysis, policy review, technology and data assessment, experience diagnostics, reputation insights, and practical service improvement strategies.

Whether we are helping a growing business address a focused issue or helping a larger organization investigate a more complex experience problem, our goal is the same: help organizations understand what is really happening, fix what is getting in the way, and create experiences that are more intentional, trustworthy, and effective.

What We Bring

Human Experience & Advocacy

We bring the customer and employee perspective into the investigation through interviews, feedback, qualitative research, advocacy, communication analysis, and service observation.

Experience Strategy & Systems Thinking

We connect individual experience problems to the larger processes, policies, technology, ownership, and organizational conditions surrounding them.

Research & Analytics

We combine qualitative and quantitative evidence to identify patterns, challenge assumptions, prioritize issues, and support better decisions.

Technology & Transformation

We evaluate how technology, automation, AI, systems, and digital experiences contribute to the problem or could support the solution.

Practical Business Recommendations

We translate findings into clear priorities, interventions, ownership, and measures rather than leaving clients with research alone.

Research Informs How We Work

Signal & Journey is building an ongoing body of research around the connections between organizational conditions and human experiences.

Our research areas include:

Experience Continuity
How internal organizational and employee conditions can influence downstream customer outcomes.

Customer-Employee Connection
How employee readiness, support, expectations, and organizational systems affect customer experience.

Experience Compatibility
How differences between customers can cause the same experience to work well for one person and create friction for another.

Technology & Experience
How AI, automation, digital systems, and emerging technologies shape customer and employee experiences.

Our research is not separate from the consulting work. It helps us ask better questions when we investigate real organizational problems.

Something Isn’t Working. Let’s Find Out Why.

You may already know what your customers are saying. You may already know employees are frustrated. You may already see the business impact. What may still be unclear is what is causing it.

Tell us what your organization is experiencing. You do not need to know which service you need or what the solution should be. Understanding that is part of the conversation.

Find the break. Trace the cause. Fix the system.
